Father Bill’s & MainSpring hosted an Open House of the Yawkey Housing Resource Center

Father Bill's & MainSpring hosted an Open House of the Yawkey Housing Resource Center (HRC), opening later this Fall on Broad Street. The state of the art facility is complete with a Day Center (supportive services and community rooms); 120 overnight emergency shelter beds (70 men, 50 women); a respite care unit for up to 10 people; and 30 units of permanent supportive housing. Manet Community Health Center will maintain an impressive satellite office on the premises as well.

FBMS's goal with this facility is to re-envision the "traditional service-delivery model by investing in prevention, diversion, and rapid re-housing services, creating a hub for [our] neighbors experiencing a housing crisis."

Thank you to the FBMS Team for the thorough, informative tour, and to CEO John Yazwinski for the chat. Congrats to all on the execution of a near-10 year plan! I look forward to all of the positive changes it will bring, especially to Ward 2. FBMS is hosting another Open House on 9/24 from 10-noon.
